Centre National D’Appui Au Developpement et à la Particapation Populaire (CENADEP)

(partner NiZA)

CENADEP was established in 2000 as a national development NGO that promotes the possibilities of democratic processes and the participation of the rural and urban population in these processes. CENADEP strives to reinforce the capacity of the population to claim and force an alternative form of development facing the political, economical and social degradation. CENADEP is a member of different national coalitions and networks, it is the lead organisation in the Natural Resources Network.

By organising workshops and by campaigning CENADEP strives:
  • to build the capacity of the civil society involved with the extractive industries.
  • to disseminate information throughout the country on the criminal and illegal activities within the extractive industries.
  • to urge the actors within the extractive industries to respect legislation and therefor to fight the corruption and criminality in the sector.
  • to promote local investments in the regions where the extractive industry is active, to fight poverty and to promote development so that the population will directly and indirectly benefit.

Thematic issues concerning CSR:
  • Transparency
  • Environment
  • Employment
  • Pillage
  • Citizenship and nationality
