Abstract "Operation Discarding the Filth" is a continuing one in Zimbabwe. Even as this interim report was being concluded (25 June), new reports were coming in about the dismantling of medium enterprises in down town Harare, with scores of business people being forced to remove all their office furniture from apartment blocks into the streets of the city. However, considering the urgency of the unfolding humanitarian disaster, it was seen to be important to bring out a first report on events to date.
