Abstract The South African Observer Mission, noting that over 3,1 million people cast their vote in the Presidential elections, recognises that this substantially represents the will of the Zimbabwean people. The SAPOM, given the conditions described above and the polarisation that exists in the country, urges all Zimbabweans to work together towards national unity and reconciliation of the people of Zimbabwe. It will, therefore, be appropriate to pronounce the 2002 Presidential elections as a credible expression of the will of the people. We note that there was also a minority view.
