Abstract |
The Marlborough House Statement suspends Zimbabwe from the councils of the Commonwealth for one year. The statement provides for a review by the Commonwealth Chairpersons' Committee on Zimbabwe (Troika, (PM of Australia, John Howard, President of Nigeria, Obasanjo, President of South Africa, Mbeki) of this suspension from the Councils of the Commonwealth in twelve months time, "having regard to progress in Zimbabwe based on the Commonwealth Harare principles and reports from the Commonwealth Secretary-General".
