Top of Zimbabwean trade union arrested

The top of the Zimbabwean trade union ZCTU was arrested in the city centre of Harare this morning. Among them are the ZCTU's president and secretary-general. (more in dutch)

Open letter on sanction policy on Zimbabwe to European parliament
The closure of the Daily News in Zimbabwe allege the European parliament to take a hard stand on the sanctionpolicy it has on Zimbabwe during the upcoming joint parliamentary EU-ACP meeting.

The Zimbabwean newspaper Daily News was banned on 12 and on 20 permanently September. It was the only independent daily in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Watch calls on the members of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to condemn the human rights violations in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe Watch is concerned that the Commission will not take a clear position, since last year the Commission voted not even to discuss a resolution that had been drafted on Zimbabwe.

Cricket boycott in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe Watch protests against participation of the Dutch cricket-team at the World Cricket Cup in Zimbabwe. A majority of the Dutch political parties agree. The Dutch Cricket Federation still plans to go.
