Black Economic Empowerment

point of attention of Corporate Social Responsibility

Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) is the struggle to increase the involvement of the black population in economic processes. In South Africa, BEE is high on the political and social agendas. This society has, since the end of apartheid, had to deal with great economic inequality. The black population is under represented in the economic sphere, in particular in the higher strata of economic activities. Offering greater opportunities to black entrepreneurs is an important aspect of Black Economic Empowerment.
