Abstract This Update covers the election preparation stage that includes analysis from constituency delimitation to setting of the election date. It also covers the voter registration, political party registration, candidate nomination, the campaign process, voter and civic education as well as the role of the security forces. The merits and demerits of each process are covered and tentative conclusions made in order to enable an analysis of this stage of the electoral process in Zimbabwe.
