| Abstract |
This report analyses and reflects on the deeper roots of the conflict in Nord Kivu ('a rebellion within a rebellion?') South Kivu ('An attempt at contextual analysis'), and Ituri ('The war within a war'), the looting of natural resources, and looks at the role of regional and international actors. It is claimed that in this region people speak too often in empty slogans without touching the concrete reality that the population is experiencing, and especially without talking about the failures of civil society.
