Abstract Judgement by judge Marrero of a United States district court in New York holding the leaders of Zanu-PF liable for the murder and torture of opposition MDC supporters in the run-up to the 2000 June parliamentary elections. (The so-called Alien Tort Claims Acts, dating of 1789, authorises non-US citizens to sue in the USA other foreigners when they claim violations of international legal norms, like rules against murder or torture).
